# AlphaCode

> AlphaCode is a free, open-source (MIT) AI coding agent written in Rust that runs in your terminal. It can read a codebase, edit files, run tests, automate Firefox and control desktop apps. A built-in free AI provider means no API key is required to start; 54 model providers (Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Ollama and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) can be added later.
